Every way to watch LRTVS Channel 10 and keep up with Berbice news — on the television at home, online from anywhere, and by newsletter on Fridays.

If you grew up in Berbice, Channel 10 is simply the channel. If you have moved away, or you are visiting, this is how to find it — and how to keep up with what is happening in the county without being in it.
On a television in Berbice
LRTVS broadcasts on Channel 10 in New Amsterdam, and on Channel 16 on the Corentyne. Between them they cover New Amsterdam, the surrounding villages and the Corentyne coast.
The station has been on air since 1989. It began on fifteen watts and worked up to a thousand, which is the transmitter power that put a signal across the county.
Online, from anywhere
You do not need to be in Guyana. Everything the newsroom produces goes online, usually the same day.
Written reports with video — lrtvsnewswatch.com. Every NewsWatch report is broadcast on television and published as an article with its video attached. If you want one place to follow Berbice news, this is it.
The latest reports and full newscasts — the players on the Channel 10 page pull the newest editions automatically from the station’s YouTube channels. There are two: LRTVS NewsWatch — latest reports, which carries individual stories as they air, and the full newscast, which carries complete editions of the newscast and the NewsWatch Update as streamed live from the studio.
Subscribe on YouTube — LRTVS Newswatch for news, and LRTVS Online Presence for live events and outside broadcasts.
On Facebook — LRTVS Newswatch posts through the day, which is usually the fastest place for breaking local news.
The weekly newsletter
If daily is more than you want, there is The Little Rock Press — the station’s free weekly newsletter. It goes out every Friday with the week’s news from LRTVS NewsWatch. One email, once a week. Sign up free.
There is also a digital magazine edition, readable online at lrtvs.gy/press.
What else is on Channel 10
The channel is not only news. Little Rock Studio in New Amsterdam produces local programming, and every episode the station has published sits in a player on the Channel 10 page:
- LRTVS Inspirations — the Daily Insight series and Call Unto Holiness.
- The Crowned Rockers — episodes 01 to 05.
- Eat Well Rockers — a food and health programme.
- Discover — feature editions, including Good Friday and Sugar Cane.
- Cinderella Syndrome — a Theatre Arts play staged by the New Amsterdam Multilateral School, in two parts.
- Rock Center Light Up — the annual Christmas light-up, broadcast live from Little Rock Suites at 10 Main and Church Streets.
- Easter — the studio’s Easter special.
- Radio on camera — 88.5 Rock FM’s shows filmed in the studio, including Spicy, Lunch Munch and The TOL Talk Show.
Older material is worth a look for its own sake: the Little Rock Studio archive includes school tours of the television and radio stations, footage of the Berbice River Bridge, and community greetings and announcements produced in New Amsterdam over the years.
Watching from the diaspora
A few practical notes if you are following from abroad:
- The YouTube players are the reliable route. They work everywhere, they do not need a Guyanese connection, and the reports stay up.
- Guyana time is UTC−4, all year — Guyana does not change its clocks. New Amsterdam is one hour behind New York in the northern summer and the same time in winter; four to five hours behind the UK.
- Turn on notifications on the LRTVS Newswatch YouTube channel if you want to know when the newscast is up rather than checking.
- Live events are streamed on the LRTVS Online Presence channel — the Christmas light-up, outside broadcasts and community events. If a family event in New Amsterdam is being covered, that is where it will appear.
Getting something onto the channel
Three different things, three different routes:
A news story — send it to the newsroom. WhatsApp +592 741-4911, or telephone 592-333-4758. There is a guide to what a newsroom needs from you.
An announcement — an obituary, a memorial, a congratulations, a vacancy or a legal notice. These are a standard service; see how announcements work.
An advertisement — see the Advertise With Us page, or the beginner’s guide to advertising on television in Guyana.
The short version
In Berbice: Channel 10, or Channel 16 on the Corentyne. Anywhere else: lrtvsnewswatch.com for the written reports, the YouTube channels for the video, and the Friday newsletter if you would rather have it all at once.
